Dr. Ron W. Bachman
Veterinarian
Dr. Ron W. Bachman was born and raised in Mulvane, KS. He graduated in 1986 from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bachman met his wife, Sharon, at Kansas State. The Bachmans have 2 grown sons, both earned their degrees at K-State. The Bachmans owned and operated a successful small animal practice in Southern California for 22 years, where he gained a special interest in orthopedics, surgery, and dentistry. Since returning to Kansas and purchasing FMA Animal Hospital from Dr. Gunter Alberti in 2010, Dr. B has dedicated himself to providing medicine with an individual and personal touch. Dr. B brings his two furry friends to work with him everyday, a golden retriever named Kaepe and his newest family member Elliott the schnauzer.
Dr. Alex Bachman
Veterinarian
My name is Alex James Bachman, I am the son of Ron and Sharon Bachman. I spent most of my life in southern California raising livestock for show. I mostly cared for crossbred beef cattle, swine, and sheep through which I learned much about responsibility and also general animal health. I was an active 4-H member in my community and an officer in FFA at Apple Valley High School. After my sophomore year, my family moved to Kansas where I graduated from high school in Wellsville. I began my collegiate career at Kansas State University in 2008 with aspirations to go to the College of Veterinary Medicine. My dreams to become a veterinarian have always been inspired by my lifelong role model and Dad, Ron Bachman. His passion for veterinary medicine and care for animals showed me very early in my life that I wanted to align my career path with his own and hopefully work with him someday. On May 15, 2015, I graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Since graduation, I have been practicing Veterinary Medicine at FMA Animal Hospital, where I will benefit from working alongside the best Veterinarians and support staff. My wife Amiee and I enjoy raising our son, Declan, along with our dogs, Addi, Finn, Livie, and our cats Poppi and Branch.
Dr. Jamie Wilson
Veterinarian
Hello, my name is Dr. Jamie Wilson. I earned my veterinary degree at the University of Georgia in 1993. I then went on to do an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Minnesota. After completing my internship I practiced in Auburn, Alabama for 2 years and moved to KC in 1997. I have been practicing small animal medicine and surgery since that time. In the last 8 years prior to joining FMA, my practice consisted of filling in for various veterinary hospitals when veterinarians needed to be out of the office. That is how I came to know the wonderful doctors and staff at FMA. I became a regular member of the team in April 2017. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and loving many animals in my life including rabbits, cats, hamsters, turtles, mice and dogs. I used to enjoy riding horses, mostly in the hunter jumper arena. I have one son who is 18 and the joy of my life. When I’m not at work I enjoy live music, traveling, discovering new restaurants in KC and meeting the demands of my cat, Clyde!

I have been a Vet tech for 9 years, and 5 years of that has been here at FMA. I love what I do because every day is something new. There’s always a new mystery daily trying to fix up all the fur babies. Whether it’s meeting an excited family with their new puppy or consoling a grieving family by saying goodbye, I love getting to be a part of these moments for so many people. I’m honored that I get to help the lives of so many pets. I myself have 5 dogs, Frankie, Chase, Junior, Matilda, and Lily, 2 birds, Puck & Peaseblossom, and 2 fish Marsha & Doggie. Outside of work, I am recently married and a mom to 4 y/o Ozzy and 9y/o Bella both of which keep my days off busy with all kinds of adventures. In my free time, I love reading and will gladly spend hours lost in a book, I’m always excited to hear new book suggestions!

Hi! My name is Emily and I am currently a part-time receptionist here at FMA. I have worked here since 2015. Before I started here, I was working with animals at Great Plains SPCA. I worked there for about 3 years doing adoptions and canine kennel care. Having a few years of animal care experience, you can imagine that I have acquired quite a few pets. I have 7 pets right now, 4 dogs and 3 cats. Chihuahuas have a special place in my heart. The older and crustier, the cuter in my opinion. While working at FMA, I was able to graduate from KU with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I have also been able to start and raise a family while working here at FMA. I have one boy who is going to be 4 this year and another boy who is going to be 2. They are big animal lovers like their mom.

Hello, my name is Hanna. I am a Veterinary Technician here at FMA Animal Hospital. When I was younger I always dreamed of working with animals. I am living my dream right now at FMA. Working with such caring people who have the same love for animals is a blessing. Seeing patients recover from illnesses is always amazing, but seeing how happy the owners are to have their companion back is the best feeling. I have 2 dogs named Chico and Nova. I also have a cat named Skyy Baby. I couldn’t imagine my life without them.

Hey, I’m Jessica! My dog Gigi and I have been receptionists here at FMA since 2015. The people I work with and the pets I get to see every day make my job so worthwhile! When I’m not at work, I enjoy hanging out with my pack at home in Waldo. I also love spending time with family and friends, making art and music, and experiencing all that the Kansas City area has to offer.

My name is Rachel. I have been working in the veterinary field since 2005. I have always had a passion to work with animals and have decided to turn that into a career. My favorite thing about working at FMA is the cherished relationships I develop with our patients and clients on a daily basis. I get a lot of satisfaction out of helping make a beloved pet feel better and then returning them to their family. To me, there is no greater fulfillment. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with my own furry family and toddler. I have a French Bulldog named Lanette, and 2 cats.

Hello, my name is Buddy. I’ve been a patient at FMA since 2007. I work at FMA during the week making sure everyone is comfortable. You’ll often find me trying out the new bedding behind the front desk or demanding a treat from the delivery man. I also make sure everyone’s lunch is safe before they eat it and I never miss a staff meeting. In my spare time, I like to nap and stay close to my people. I am the goodest boy!
